A NEW LINE OF VIDEO/AUDIO INTERFACES WILL BE ANNOUNCED AND START SHIPPING JULY 18TH. THESE UNITS HAVE MANY ENHANCED FEATURES AND WILL BE COMPATIBLE WITH A LARGE SEGMENT OF TOYOTA AND LEXUS MODELS.

Early in 2004 we began research into the possibility of adding an external video and audio input for use in the new version of the Toyota Prius. An interface has now been created for the public which is designed to bring these desires into actual use. The new 2005 Viewtech is compatible with all 2004-2005 Prius packages with and without Navigation and all current options such as the factory single CD, 6 CD changer or XM tuner. This unit can also be configured to perform with the single Nav/Radio combination unit used in other 2004-2005 Toyotas.

Toyota ViewTech 2005 Controller

    The Toyota ViewTech 2005 Controller is equipped with numerous features and user selectable options. If a factory XM tuner is present, it will auto-detect and continue to operate without interference.

     Features:

2 separate video inputs

2 separate stereo audio inputs

Automatic video selection for a camera when placed in reverse

Camera view can be turned on and off at will

Digital adjustment of color and brightness

All features activated with factory controls already present

Factory cables and connectors to allow simple installation or removal if desired.

Operation:

      Press the mode button on the steering wheel or the AM button on the radio until Sat 1 is displayed on the screen. If your Prius is equipped with the factory navigation system, you can use voice commands for each of the Satellite screens instead. If an XM tuner is connected, it can be used and controlled using all of the standard functions and presets available for the Sat 1 views.
     Pressing the mode button again (or the AM button or using voice commands) activates Sat 2. The Viewtech interface will now remove the factory views on the Toyota screen and replace it with the Video 1 input. It will also replace the sound with the Audio 1 input and play the sound through the factory sound system. If the tuning knob is turned at this time, the brightness level of the Video 1 input is raised or lowered. If the SEEK UP button is pressed, the color level of the Video 1 input is increased. If SEEK DOWN is pressed, the color level is reduced.
     Press the mode or AM button (or voice command) again and the screen will change to the Sat 3 screen. The Viewtech interface will restore the standard Toyota view but switch to the Audio 2 input. This is intended for use as an external audio input to be used with whatever device you would like to play through the factory sound system (Ipod, CD Changer, Cassette, Portable XM or Sirius, etc.) If you have a video source connected to the Video 2 input, you may manually select it by pressing the SEEK UP button on the radio. If you press the SEEK DOWN button, the Video 2 input is turned off. If the reverse function is connected, the Video 2 input (camera) will be selected automatically anytime the car is placed in reverse. This occurs in any mode (AM,FM,CD,XM,MAP,ETC.) so the reverse camera function is always ready to activate at the correct time.

The price for the 2005 Viewtech Kit is $299.00 + shipping.

We are also offering a UNIVERSAL VIEWTECH for use in other applications. This allows backup cameras and video to be displayed on most of the major automobile manufacturer display screens.
