. From time to time vehicles and factory software may change, requiring software updates to our products. The USB update port on your Lockpick module provides a means to keep your module current and to take advantage of improvements we may create for your product. Software updates are listed and available for download below.

To update your FREEDOM IN MOTION Lockpick module (shown above),
first download the Firmware Updater program at the link below.

NOTE: Must use the FIRMWARE UPDATER above to install this
program in your FREEDOM IN MOTION LOCKPICK (pictured at top of page)
The update will not work in earlier model Lockpicks and could cause them not to operate.

Unzip the FIRMWARE UPDATER file and select the FIRMWARE UPDATER SETUP icon to install the program to your WIndows computer. Install the USB driver included in the download when prompted by the FIRMWARE UPDATER and then continue the installation as directed by the on screen instructions - it's easy

      With the Lockpick module connected to your vehicle for power, and the key out, plug in a USB cable to the USB port on your computer and to the USB port on the Lockpick module. Your computer will display a "found new hardware" message and a few seconds later report that the new hardware is ready to use. Wait until your computer says that the new hardware is ready to use.

    Next, start the FIRMWARE UPDATER program and when prompted, browse to the location you saved the latest software update from the download above.  Follow the on screen program instructions and a few minutes later, your Lockpick will be equipped with the latest changes and upgrades.

Note: The radio auto-dimming function is not affected by the installation of the CHR550 or V5 Lockpick. If you set your instrument panel dash display (speedometer etc.) to maximum brightness using the variable adjustment present near the headlight switch or on the steering wheel stalk (the wheel has a click detent position), you have turned off the auto-dimming. While turned off, the radio will not switch to night mode or dim when the headlights are activated. Move the adjustment out of the maximum brightness detent to return auto-dimming back to on.

5/19/11 VERSION 2.0  New Software available for the CHR550 adds additional support for anytime manual activation of rear cameras.  5/1/11 VERSION 1.9  New Software available for the CHR550 adds additional support for automatic front cameras in certain vehicles

  2/23/2011 Version 1.5   New software now available for CHR550 Mygig Lockpick adds reverse camera operation in vehicles with exhaust brake functions.
  12/20/10 Version 1.3   New software adds additional features for steering wheel control in iPod OUT graphics mode. You can already scroll up and down through the on screen menus, select, play, pause, and select previous menus, and with update 1.3, you can now skip forward and backward to the next song while you are playing as well as fast forward and rewind through your current selection!! Other updates included in 1.3 will automatically return standard steering wheel control functions when exiting to AM, FM, etc. from the Lockpick TV iPod mode, as well as further updates for the latest 2011 model vehicles.

  2/25/2011 Latest update for the GMX550 Lockpick Version 1.3. This update allows voice commands and bluetooth phone control while in iPod Out graphics mode.

 12/14//2010 Latest update for the GMX550 Lockpick Version 1.2. This update improves turn signal camera operations allowing immediate switching between left and right cameras using the turn signals and outputs the camera video to headrests or an external screen if desired.
11/20//2010 Version 1.1. This update adds new functions allowing track up, track down, and play/pause control for your attached iPod/iTouch/iPhone/iPad ...even when the manual mode is selected! Now you can activate the advanced iPod OUT graphic functions with full display and steering wheel control and even if you switch to manual mode, the steering wheel buttons will still allow you to control your music selections.
